Photography outings
Mountains are earned on foot. It is step by step that one moves toward a pass, a summit, or a flowering meadow. This gentle slowness opens curious, attentive, and above all contemplative eyes. In the silence of the alpine pastures, beneath shifting winds, it is the changing light of forgotten hours, those of solitude, that the photographer comes seeking.
The outings I offer are not lectures. They are shared moments, at the rhythm of walking and observation, to learn how to see before pressing the shutter. Each outing is built together, according to your level, your wishes and the season.

Outings Suggestions
The price indicated for each outing covers guiding by a UIMLA-certified mountain leader, photographic accompaniment, planning, and practical information sent before departure. Transport, meals and accommodation (multi-day outings) are not included. For a private outing (1 or 2 people), please contact me for a personalised quote.

Camera Basics & Beyond

Understanding your camera so it works for you, not against you. During a hike adapted to your level, we will go through the essential functions of your equipment: exposure, focus, shooting modes… The technical foundations at the service of your vision, out in the field
Composition
Year round · Valais, Switzerland
Learning to read a landscape, a subject, before framing it. Lines, balance, depth, point of view — building an image rather than capturing it by chance. During a hike adapted to your level, we will explore the classic rules of image composition while also letting our creativity speak. The day will end with a short discussion around our favourite shots.
Black and White
Year round · Valais, Switzerland
Seeing without colour means seeing differently — focusing on light, contrasts, textures, shapes. A day to develop a more stripped-back and demanding eye. We will adapt the hike to your level and seek out subjects that invite creativity. Along the way, we will discuss the editing process to get the most out of your images when converting to black and white (demonstration on tablet or laptop).
Long exposure
Year round · Valais, Switzerland
Slowing down time to reveal what the eye cannot see. Silky water, moving skies, intentional blur… Real conditions will allow us to explore the use of filters and tripod during a hike adapted to your level.
Sunset
Year round · Valais, Switzerland
Golden light, the blue hour, then perhaps the first stars… An outing that can extend into a night-time walk back by headlamp: one of the most complete experiences the mountain has to offer, without venturing too far. We will begin by scouting interesting compositions based on the conditions of the day, then set up our gear. Headlamp required!

Photo Bivouac – 2 days
Year round · Switzerland, France
One night in the mountains just to be there at the right moment: evening light, a star-filled sky, dawn, raking light, forgotten contrasts and the warmest colours. Sleeping outside to photograph what others never see. Hike built together according to your wishes and your level (bivouac under the stars or night in a mountain hut).

Glaciers – 2 to 3 days
Late Spring, Summer & Fall · Valais, Switzerland
A glacial landscape is a world apart, suspended between rock and ice. Outings led by a UIMLA-certified mountain leader, to reach the places where the mountain becomes mineral and silent. We will cover several photographic subjects across the different altitudes we traverse, drawing ever closer to those coveted glacial expanses. Several itineraries adapted to your level are possible. Nights in a mountain hut overlooking the glacier.
Itineraries remain outside glaciated terrain, making these outings accessible without high mountain equipment.

Several days of hiking, a camera around your neck or in your hand. Time to settle into a landscape, to cross it, to watch it change. In full immersion, the eye evolves, focuses on what matters. Leave the rest behind: altitude will do its work. Bivouac or mountain huts, it is the light that will set the rhythm of our days. Itineraries built together according to your wishes and your level.
